Our advocacy work

Among our many advocacy initiatives, we focus on access to treatment and services, clinical trials, and survivorship.

Our areas of focus

We are driven by a mission to care and a vision to cure. On the path to achieving that vision, we work tirelessly to ensure Kiwis have access to the highest global standards of care.

Our advocacy is rooted in the real-life experiences of those affected by blood cancer, along with the insights of leading experts who understand the unique challenges New Zealanders face. Through research, insights, and patient stories, we shape policies and raise public awareness, ensuring that blood cancer remains a visible and urgent issue on the healthcare agenda.

One of the most critical challenges for blood cancer patients is timely access to essential therapies and services through the public health system. This remains a regular focus in our discussions with Ministers, MPs, health officials, and government agencies.

We address immediate concerns such as access to medicines, clinical trials, stem cell transplant services, and funding for ancillary care; while also advocating for long-term policy changes that can sustainably deliver world-class care to Kiwis with blood cancer.

At the core of everything we do is the perspective and voice of patients, ensuring their needs and concerns shape our strategies and actions.
